i wanted to see where yoko ono was making her mark but the whole area is fenced with a mesh overlaid so you can't even see the "progress" unfold. so we walk a long fence a mile or so reminding me of some kind of secret compound or israeli incursion, and as i walk i feel the anger rise and vow to enter at my own risk. when we reach the south entrance the bridge is open and we gain the island. it is growing lush despite the previous destruction, amazing me how fast nature renews, and they graded some, and though the broken glass remains they have partly refilled the lagoon, and i see a few intrepid families of ducks, and even a baby heron.
