barney tilrock was a good boy today. profoundly deaf, he walks free and generally maintains eye contact and stays near. today on the lakefront while i was putting a not in my phone he came back and checked on me, his nose homing in as above. when i began with barney his old walker showing me the ropes had him out for 20 minutes and said this is already longer than he gets. and freedom was unthinkable. he said he's old, that's all he needs, he's a stubborn bastard. four years on barney walks off leash for an hour,  and runs.
