The seemingly dazzling world of glass spires, high tech everything will be a short lived hyper-experiment gone quickly awry. That's just the way it is going to be, or actually is now, with humanity caught in the mirror-house of Plato's Cave and its own hubris.

The structure of collapse is that seemingly stable systems hide from themselves their own flaws, and seem solid when they are hollowed out by corruptions, self-delusion, decay; and then the stresses build and build and then shatter in an instant.
