We saw The Bride last night. It was phantasmagorical, wildly kinetic, fueled by Mary Shelley's disquiet beyond the grave. It's so intense it's hard to say much about the meaning, but you feel it, viscerally. It will be interesting to see where Maggie Gyllenhaal goes next, after The Lost Daughter, and The Bride.
