Shade is critical in the park where Olive lived before us. Inside we have shade and circulation. We get hot sometimes anyway but we rarely use the AC. We need to cover that window in the kitchen where the old dryer used to vent and the sun penetrates making it too hot to make dinner some days. Some days i make dinner at 7a.m. We have to think about these things, even as the government makes war and commits genocide and the developers take our parks, killing trees and habitat and building giant towers making more burning heat so fast you can't think, especially in the summer wet bulb solarium which can cook your brains. By the by I'm reading Shade, by Sam Bloch. I thought it would be aesthetic, but it's really pragmatic.
