We need to understand that whenever we're despairing or we're feeling that we're powerless or that there's nothing we can do we need to ask ourselves who does that feeling benefit. I always find that helpful because it reorients my understanding of the fact that companies, the Israeli colonial project, and the entities that support it, need us to feel powerless, they need us to think that there's nothing we can do, and so the optimism for me often comes from the fact that even if we just do one thing differently we don't know what's going to happen next. Liberation never seems practical. It's the most radical undertaking of the application of ones imagination, and so, if it's never felt practical, or it's never been a practical thing because the so-called order of business as usual, the status quo, is based on dispossession and extraction, then, we need to have faith in the fact that the things that seemed the most impossible can become reality.
