i finished shadowbahn about the twin towers materializing in the desert 20 years after the fall. it may have been a little too sophisticated, or attenuated. in sum, it was ok. then i finished mary oliver's upstream. she doesn't say much about the civilized world, but she relates wholesome ways of escape, though i'm a little jealous of her luck.
i watched shakespeare behind bars, and behind the deathhouse door. shakespeare is a boon
companion to the u.s. prison state population, for the lucky ones. the deathhouse in texas is just plain sick.
now i'm reading the violent american century, which is much more stimulating than the deadly lies in the news.
