e.e. cummings went out in a canoe
with his sister elizabeth
and his dog rex.
rex lunged for a bee
and capsized the boat.
he swam for shore panicked
then circled back to save the kids
but started climbing elizabeth and so
e.e. had to push rex under.
e.e. cummings never had a dog again.
