on reading Odds Against Tomorrow.

i'm not very far in yet, but i think i'm going to dig this book. it treats of the relation between fear and curiosity and finds similarly to me in this blog, like the correlation, more fear, less curiosity, and the corporation stokes fear to reduce curiosity about their evil and to get you to buy. i just had the thought that the other meaning of odds against tomorrow is, the odd ones now may mitigate against the future the corporations tyrants murderers politicians envision.
maybe it has always been so.

p.s. i read the book. it didn't fulfill the promise i felt in the first pages. it is a standard dystopian future/now book, a genre affair. the book that lives beyond that genre is yet to be written i think, possibly being written now.
