olive lays by the fire escape door and i feel like she's wondering where our little red bat friend went and wishing for it to return, and i say i think that was a once in a lifetime thing, though r. had a bat on her window screen once that stayed for days and return from migration for two years living in her window. every time i open the door i look at the space that held the bat.
