one is no longer part of the logic of this world. and nevertheless, i continue to  spend my life, my time, working for that. it is a real commitment. as to the hope for poetry, i have no fear on that count. poetry has already been degraded enough in the economic sphere, the publishing world, any readership, that nothing more can happen to it. thus hope - we're talking about reasonable hope - exists. poetry is not like fireworks that light the sky, are seen from a distance, and quickly fade. i view it rather as a night light or lichen. lichen is used to hostile environments. when living conditions become impossible, it sinks into lethargy, to be reborn when they become acceptable. it seems to me that poetry goes through such phases, without ever disappearing completely.
