i remember, i was going to write that charlie was full of energy today bounding hither and thither, loving people and squirrels and stepping inside a colorful hut on the quad. the fellow at the entrance asked if i was of the jewish lineage and i said no, though other times i say i'm a quarter jewish, and he says i think your dog is jewish, and i say we both were attracted to the hut, it's got a good light. it was bright inside. coming through the colored walls the light was inviting. i thought that's all we needed to see, let's go, but back outside charlie didn't want to leave. they had some kind of doughnuts and she had hope of good favor but i scooted her on. shortly after, between the oriental institute (now called the institute for the study of ancient cultures museum) and the rockefeller bell tower charlie was molested by a large black dog of labradoran descent running around with one of those shock collars while his human chatted obliviously.
