manta ray man says. there's always one.

then on the way back i saw a man with a homeland security patch all by himself on the corner with ice. i asked him if he was in costume and he said , uh, yeah. he wouldn't let me photograph him.

it wasn't a momentary lapse of reason. it was an entire dark history of a rapacious species.

be that as it may, it was no ordinary day. though it may be now. or there may be an end to the ordinary.

i was nearly blown off my pure fix. there was a sexual assault just before we passed under the auto river styx. there were fire trucks and po-lice storming the point. there was a lonely surfer sitting on his board. there was a tree down where we walked this morning. there were wave giants striding over the ramparts, there was a po-lice blocking our path telling me to leash my dog. i said yea yea and ignored her order. there was a massive truck nearly killing us in the intersection. there was an angry old man kicking same. there was a dog idling, unsure how to act. in the end there was a complaint about leaves tracked in. there was a rage against the machine, and the alien priorities.
