gritt is a character in the movie gritt— the protagonist or agonist of the story. gritt has a big social art project she can't get organized, called the white inflammation, a kind of blanket of apathy that has fallen upon the land. she comes to seem rather sociopathic, but sympathetic. finally she escapes the place of her frustrated attempts to belong and to reflect on the human disintegration to a cabin in the mountains and immediately feels free and happy and to make art without social constraint, and it's not about the thematic apocalypse but about nature and intuition and alchemy.

                                        perfidy is the word.

 war criminals get peace prizes, orders of the garter, island palaces, and public parks. journalists get jail or murder. we get endless propaganda, endless virus, and endless war.

i was in a bookstore with mister. i "found" a 100 dollar bill by the register and put it in my pocket. we walked around the counter. somebody was sitting on the floor eating. mister snatched her burger from between her buns. she showed the empty buns. i said sorry i'll get you another burger. i was feeling magnanimous with my 100 bones. what was it? just a burger with artichokes she said.
