pointers a noid. i love them but. when we got to the back gate and i took the leashes off i said now comet, let's not chase the cats or nothin like that um-kay? and he goes hell bent for leather up the wrong stairs all the way to the top and then acts like he can't figure out how to get back down and soon as i get exacerbated and start up he comes down and hilde goes up and she seems baffled when i call like she's doing what she always do following comet up and doesn't cotton she's on the wrong side so i call and call and she knows i'm a noid and slowly descends and then stands in the yard reluctant to come up again on the right side for fear she'll be wrong again. sheesh.
a lady in hollywood dark glasses pushing a baby stroller said, he ought to be in movies. a fellow before that took pictures of him and said he takes pictures of all kinds of things, dogs, sports, crashes, etc., especially dogs. i asked where he posts them and he blanched a little it seemed, oh nowhere... oh just for yourself. ...yeah... i told him about the blog. he let it go right through unhearing. i could see it going straight through his ear, his head, his ear. then i saw him turn left, when we came around the block he was there again, i looked at him, he looked blank, moving slowly unfocused, crossing the boulevard and finally looking at me. i thought, this fellow is cagey, at large, he might be a spy for the city dog catcher. he might be a scout for a dognapping ring. watch out now.

I feel a hot wind on my shoulder
And the touch of a world that is older
I turn the switch and check the number
I leave it on when in bed I slumber
I hear the rhythms of the music
I buy the product and never use it
I hear the talking of the DJ
Can't understand just what does he say?
I'm on a Mexican radio
I'm on a Mexican, woe woe, radio

I dial it in and tune the station
They talk about the U.S. inflation
I understand just a little
No comprende, it's a riddle
I'm on a Mexican radio
I'm on a Mexican, woe woe, radio
I wish I was in Tijuana
Eating barbequed iguana
I'd take requests on the telephone
I'm on a wavelength far from home
I feel a hot wind on my shoulder
I dial it in from south of the border
I hear the talking of the DJ
Can't understand just what does he say?

I'm on a Mexican radio
I'm on a Mexican, woe woe, radio
I'm on a Mexican radio
I'm on a Mexican, woe woe, radio
Radio radio...
What does he say?

Wall of Woodoo,
Mexican Radio

i'm on a mexican radio. i'm on a mexican, woe woe, radio. i saw a guy sitting on a tub working on a wire in a hole in the back of the solstice tower, mexican music playing on his radio. i found out what being on a mexican radio meant in enseƱada at a bar. there's a radio but it doesn't play the music for which it was made. it has two wires extending with little handles. you hold the two handles in your hands and the radio man turns the volume up, giving your inebriated palms an increasing shock. you hold on as long as you can stand it and then you get a shot of tequila for every decibel. the sound of the radio is your sound. kind of like the yodelling sound common to folk music.
i thought of this riding by the solstice tower, so far from the border, this mexican working on the quintessential american tower. i thought of my solstice, my short birthday, coming around again.
i could have been agitated too. up late with acute foot itch. walldrill for sleep. but i was calm for gus and now the day will follow thus.

gus was sweet and calm and knew me well this morning. no accidents. both grey cats came out. they knew me too. good thing, the animals may not miss me, but they always remember me. it's me that forgets sometimes how well they remember.
gus gets agitated outside and rushes around like he's running late, rushing to pee, just past the outside door, rushing to poop, pooping again as i deposit his poop. bounding like a small fluffy horsey for the quiet comfort of home. i know he misses his mom, but this time will be sweet and calm while he waits.
when we go east through the tunnel now he runs for the nearer water of the faun fountain. i remember him galloping for the lake. i'm happy with his pace now. my pace slows apace with mister.
have to get old gus now. picture soon.
