we met uma on the way to the dog yard and she's 4 months and had her shots and charlie barked but uma knew and wasn't afraid. then we saw pogey and charlie barked and her mom said now he's afraid and i said well there's no need. the simplest things in the ordinary world can be fraught and there's no need. i saw a person and dog i hadn't seen in years and they ignored me and said they had a meeting. no hello, no good to see you. then we saw a dog we've known for many years and they cross the street to avoid us, and my heart drops thinking about the life of a dog avoiding life. maybe it's just me.
