The history of kites as symbols of defiance and liberation, and tools for uplifting spirits through play is central to our project. We are mindful of the symbolic significance of kites flown in Palestine and stand in solidarity by denouncing the genocide against the people of Palestine. We strongly oppose the Israeli occupation of Gaza and its support backed by the U.S. government. We fly our kites to acknowledge the volatile injustices many Palestinians are facing and offer pathways for cultivating hope and solidarity with them during this time.
