the oligarchs and weapons manufacturers will not bend toward justice and democracy.

The term "spoiler" was first used by the pro-slavery Whig party to smear anti-slavery candidates. That's how long people like this have been fighting against democracy and human progress.

Instantaneity and virtuality: these two reconfigurations of the relationship between conception and execution have changed cognitive functioning so radically that the behaviors of our fellow human beings (similar up to a certain point) tend to appear more and more inexplicable to us.

and the Mutation of the Techno‑Communicative Environment

when there is no time to think, we can only react. this is how the system works.

i met someone with two barking dogs and we talked and the dogs talked. we both lived in deerfield in the 1960's. we reminisced about how kids could go around with no fear. but i remember that's when kennedy was murdered and i fell off the bunk bed and our neighbor sleepwalked and fell down the stairs. now kids are raised in fear. now kids learn by algorithm, from electronic machines. now kids are raised in a country that commits genocide daily, and politicians campaign with murderous joy. what are kids to think, how are kids to think, in the forsaken country?

The generation that grew up in an environment in which info-neural stimulation is hyperfast, certainly develops the ability to process faster the stimulus that comes from the connective electronic environment. But a rapid processing method is precisely based on the elimination of those mental activities that slow down our ability to respond and to act: emotion and rationalization. Consequently the act tends to become devoid of emotional profundity and devoid of rational motivation.

In a certain sense, the contemporary electronic acceleration of info-neural stimuli produces a generalized senescence effect on the social mind.
