what does subducted mean? i just saw it in a poem, the shore. course i can look it up but first i wanted to see if i knew it or could figure it by context or imagine what it might mean . . .

A daylit surface teeming with youth—it makes me feel like mine has

been—not lost so much as just . . . subducted

oh, like abducted or inducted>
a geological process in which one edge of a crustal plate is forced sideways and downward into the mantle below another plate.

to convey through a duct. could be like a portal, in the ground or in your body. kid underground.

i got these two books of poetry from the library though i kind of wanted a novel or something but they come from the duct of my queue as and when they come, i was reading poems anyway waiting but these i'll read cover to cover not just sporadic like celan and the others waiting in my dresser stack.

tending to ramble i may like rambling poems or something crystalline and concise.

i'll read the shore and let you know. are you still there?

in 35 mins i'm going to the chicago humanities festival zoom of victor kossakovsky, the charming fellow who directed the magical gunda which i am eager to view from some pay platform unless i can find it at the library.
