i'm reading how they got a thing now called shotspotter 

that hears loud noises and calls the cops but most of the calls are false

postitives bringing the cops with the guns for nothing or worse, for

violent confrontations ending in death. these deadening searches 

happen fifty times a day in chicago. citizens spend ten 

million a year for them.

shotspotter only operates in low-income black and brown neighborhoods.

this is predictive policing that produces its own predicted results. 

the technology of enforcement is deadening and heartbreaking—

it shuts down thought. 

killer robots with racist facial recognition and weaponized drones

equipped with mindless intelligence and programmed to kill will 

likely be running our city streets soon along with the police 

summoned by shotspotter.
