I finished Gertrude Stein An Afterlife. I'm reading Bora Chung Midnight Timetable. A whole different story. I had a dream that ended with the song Pennies from Heaven and thought what pennies falling from space would do to heads. The American Dream. All this is micro-story in the big story no one knows. Trudy asked When can i go home and I said well we're going to go to your room now and R. said this is home. But everybody knows it'll never be home. We sang songs about America. Trudy says My father always wanted to come to America, the American Dream, but it's a broken dream. We lived through the war and now this. No memory in a no place. But she remembers being lost in America.
