i'm quite naive about the space-time continuum. i can't get it into my head. to think that the pictures we see today are cosmic events happening billions of years ago. in the shower after my swim i was thinking what if we turned the telescope in the other direction, could we see future light traveling away from us? or would we see ancient light coming from all directions, passing through us. and are the beings from 11 billion years ago seeing earth and the milky way freshly made, without us? who sees the present, and where? what affect does the ancient light have when it meets the present light and passes through us? is there any present light? has the sun already burned out?
