i got the dispossessed, a story of asylum at the u.s.- mexican border and beyond, directly from the publisher for 10$ less than the cover price with shipping, in 5 days, via the u.s.postal service. it's been 11 mail days since seminary coop sent my book hurricane season at the cover price, and it is still out there at large somewhere, never scanned, untrackable. they say it takes several weeks for a book to arrive locally. i wanted to support local booksellers, but i think i will cut out the middleman from now on.
still i know my complaint is a luxury, i'm aware how it sounds, when people are starving and dying in agony. i could be dead or dying too. i know how lucky i am to be taking pictures of a cat like jasper in a box, complaining of nothing, lucky and glad to be alive.
