i didn't know or forgot the story of william o'neal, who helped the FBI murder fred hampton 50 years ago. in 1990 he did a suicide run onto the eisenhower expressway, failed, and did another run, this time succeeding, on martin luther king day. i was thinking, where was i in 1990, and i remembered my landlord in bucktown telling me his brother also did a suicide run on the expressway, and it may have been the same year, as i was living in bucktown in 1990. then i read a tribune story from the time that said another man from the same apartment complex also did a suicide run on the expressway in the same place. the two suicides didn't know one another.
