good nature

i finished the little book on time with relief. it was dense and the fact that it's for the general reader made me feel dumber along with the fact that i got sucked into another true crime series that left me feeling both dumb and unsatisfied. most crime, the crime of the powerful, is protected is the lesson about true crime, and there is no satisfying conclusion unless you prefer blurry desolation and smug injustice. it could almost send me back to the book on time, but i know where that got me, so i go on to the next swim and return to finish ill nature which is satisfying if only because it is sane and makes no promises of justice or enlightenment, it simply talks of the predicament of life we find ourselves in among the land grabbers, war makers, liars and deniers of good nature.
by the way, good morning, kids.
